Concept
The project proposes increasing urban density and vitality through a continuous flexible field of movement and construction. The modular dwelling lots accommodate commerce in proximity and urban passages for pedestrian flows. Similarl to the generative logics of the historic Parisian passages, these urban corridors can be managed during the day-week-month-year time, and can be started up by private consortiums. As temporary, micro-social systems, these regulated flows can emerge where the new urban landscape will introduce density and functional specialisation into the matrix. These consortiums can produce short-cuts into the general pedestrian network, temporally increasing connectivity and circuitry at the base of a porous, accessible, dynamic and safe urban space. The project of the new public spaces, at the 4 gates of the central park, is based on empty, open-covered spaces, which can be adjusted according to the type of the urban event to organize. Alongside this variation system for the urban fabric, a variation program for the greenery is developed. The urban forests can be exploited for construction and heating, a dynamic, strategic element for the construction of the new sustainable, but not “ideologically green”, landscape. The forest lots can be planted flexibly, reconfigured over time, and integrated with public spaces and commercial passages, in each modular plot.
Il progetto propone di incrementare vitalità urbana e densità di attività attraverso un campo continuo di spostamento e costruzione. Le parcelle abitative modulari accolgono commercio di prossimità e passage orari che possono spontaneamente essere proposti da consorzi di privati e quindi comparire laddove il territorio produca densità e specializzazione funzionale nella nuova matrice urbana. Questi consorzi producono dei cortocircuiti spontanei nella rete pedonale generale incrementando, anche temporaneamente, la connettività e la circuitazione alla base di uno spazio urbano poroso, accessibile, dinamico e sicuro. Il progetto dei nuovi spazi pubblici in corrispondenza delle 4 nuove porte del parco prevede degli spazi vuoti, aperti-coperti variabili a seconda dell’evento ospitato. Parallelamente a questo livello di variazione d’uso del costruito, si affianca il livello di variazione d’uso del verde, gradualmente riconfigurabile ed integrabile con il costruito in ogni parcella. Le Foreste Urbane possono essere sfruttate per contemplare e coltivare o per costruire e riscaldare, considerate strategicamente come elemento dinamico per la realizzazione di un paesaggio sostenibile ma non “ideologicamente verde”. I lotti di foresta possono essere flessibilmente piantumati, costruiti parzialmente, integrati con spazi pubblici e passaggi commerciali, e sono potenzialmente inseribili in ogni lotto.
